Dr. Vaughn

Dr. Vaughn is a gentle, caring dentist who uses the most advanced materials and procedures available in dentistry. He practices comfortable, health-centered dentistry and enjoys getting to know each of his patients. In addition to his technical proficiency, Dr. Vaughn is a careful listener and will explain beforehand what treatment is best for your individual needs.

After earning his Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Michigan State University, Dr. Vaughn received his doctorate from the University Of Michigan School Of Dentistry. After earning his dental degree, Dr. Vaughn completed a residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Howard University Hospital. During his residency, Dr. Vaughn gained advanced training in oral surgery, implant placement, rehabilitation of complex dental cases, and sedation dentistry. He continues to remain at the forefront of his profession through his successful completion of several continuing education courses including advanced implant placement, orthodontics, Invisalign, and child management. Dr. Vaughn has also contributed to and was published in "Dentistry Today" one of the nation's leading publications in modern dentistry.

Dr. Vaughn strongly believes in contributing and giving back to the community. He has participated and volunteered in several missionary trips including a missionary trip to Africa. There, Dr. Vaughn, working with other medical professionals, helped to provide dental care to an under served village, consisting primarily of women and children. He has also participated in the local big brother program where he served as a mentor for at risk children with incarcerated parents.

He enjoys exercising, outdoor activities, and spending time with his wife Brina, and their puppy Misha.

Brina Vaughn, RDH

Our Dental Hygienist, Brina Vaughn, is a caring, highly skilled clinician who provides gentle yet thorough preventative care to her patients. After earning her Bachelor's degree in Human Relations from Trinity College, Brina received her Dental Hygiene Certification at Howard University's College of Dentistry. She is a member of the American Dental Hygienist Association, Virginia Dental Hygiene Association, and the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.

Brina's gentle touch and warm personality make her a great addition to our team. She believes preventative care and patient education are key to maintaining optimal oral and systemic health.

Brina enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her husband and their puppy Misha. She looks forward to welcoming you to Pure Dental!

Yennis, Office Manager/Front Desk Coordinator

Yennis is fluent in both English and Spanish and brings over 12 years of dental experience to the Pure Dental team. Having started out as a dental assistant before moving on to the front desk, she is very knowledgeable and can help you understand your dental insurance while answering any questions about your treatment plan. She takes great pride in helping our patients get the very most out of their dental insurance for the care they need. If you have any insurance questions she probably has the answer. Yennis has been happily married to her high school sweetheart Erik for over 12 years and has a son named Caleb.

Yennis is a member of Restorations and Missions Church, where she keeps active by leading the church youth group. In her spare time she enjoys shopping, traveling, reading a good inspirational novel and attending her son's many sporting activities.

Michelle, Dental Assistant

Michelle was born and raised in Northern Virginia. She has a natural ability to quickly pick up on new procedures as well as having a friendly personality. She is responsible for all the operations in the clinical aspect of assisting the Doctors and Hygienists. She is responsible for the sterilization of all instruments and equipment, handles all the ordering of supplies as well as being the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) representative for our office. Michelle's goal is to make your visit as relaxing as possible greeting every patient with a smile.

Her interests include spending time with family and friends, playing soccer, and taking care of her dog.
