Pediatric Dentistry
Pediatric dentistry is a branch of dentistry that deals with the dental health needs of children from birth through adolescence. At Pure Dental, our dentist recommends taking your child to the dentist as soon as their first tooth erupts or by their first birthday.
Early visits to our office allow our team to monitor the development of your child’s smile and ensure that their teeth are erupting properly. It also allows us to ensure that no problems are developing with their bite.
Meet Our Doctor
Dr. Vaughn
Dr. Vaughn is a gentle, caring dentist who uses the most advanced materials and procedures available in dentistry. He practices comfortable, health-centered dentistry and enjoys getting to know each of his patients. In addition to his technical proficiency, Dr. Vaughn is a careful listener and will explain beforehand what treatment is best for your individual needs.
After earning his bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Michigan State University, Dr. Vaughn received his doctorate from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, which has been ranked one of the top dental schools in the world
After earning his dental degree, Dr. Vaughn completed a residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Howard University Hospital. During his residency, Dr. Vaughn gained advanced training in oral surgery, implant placement, rehabilitation of complex dental cases, and sedation dentistry. He continues to remain at the forefront of his profession through the successful completion of several continuing education courses including advanced implant placement, orthodontics, Invisalign, and child management. Dr. Vaughn has also contributed to and was published in "Dentistry Today", one of the nation's leading publications in modern dentistry.
Dr. Vaughnn strongly believes in contributing and giving back to the community. He has participated and volunteered in several missionary trips including a missionary trip to Africa. There, Dr. Vaughn and other medical professionals helped provide dental care to an underserved village, especially women and children. He has also participated in the local Big Brother program where he served as a mentor for at-risk children with incarcerated parents.
Dr. Vaughn enjoys exercising, golf, outdoor activities, and spending time with his wife, Brina, and their three children, Leah, Lauren, and Brandon.
