Dr. Vaughn

Dr. Vaughn is a gentle, caring dentist who uses the most advanced materials and procedures available in dentistry. He practices comfortable, health-centered dentistry and enjoys getting to know each of his patients. In addition to his technical proficiency, Dr. Vaughn is a careful listener and will explain beforehand what treatment is best for your individual needs.

After earning his bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Michigan State University, Dr. Vaughn received his doctorate from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, which has been ranked one of the top dental schools in the world

After earning his dental degree, Dr. Vaughn completed a residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Howard University Hospital. During his residency, Dr. Vaughn gained advanced training in oral surgery, implant placement, rehabilitation of complex dental cases, and sedation dentistry. He continues to remain at the forefront of his profession through the successful completion of several continuing education courses including advanced implant placement, orthodontics, Invisalign, and child management. Dr. Vaughn has also contributed to and was published in "Dentistry Today", one of the nation's leading publications in modern dentistry.

Dr. Vaughn strongly believes in contributing and giving back to the community. He has participated and volunteered in several missionary trips including a missionary trip to Africa. There, Dr. Vaughn and other medical professionals helped provide dental care to an underserved village, especially women and children. He has also participated in the local Big Brother program where he served as a mentor for at-risk children with incarcerated parents.

Dr. Vaughn enjoys exercising, golf, outdoor activities, and spending time with his wife, Brina, and their three children, Leah, Lauren, and Brandon.

Brina Vaughn, RDH

Brina Vaughn began her dental career over 15 years ago as a registered dental hygienist, and along with her husband, Dr. Paris Vaughn, opened Pure Dental in 2010. After graduating magna cum laude with her bachelor’s degree in Human Relations from Trinity College, Brina attended Howard University’s College of Dentistry, where she earned her dental hygiene certification.

As Pure Dental’s practice administrator, Brina ensures the practice runs smoothly and efficiently, creating a working environment focused on providing an exceptional and personal dental experience for all patients. Brina’s management style encourages and supports her team members, and all appreciate her positivity, warm personality, and bright smile.

Outside of the office, Brina enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, traveling, and cooking. She looks forward to welcoming you to Pure Dental!

Maria Ferriol, RDH

Maria has been in the dental field for over 20 years. She started out as an orthodontic assistant and hygiene assistant. She obtained her dental hygiene degree from Northern Virginia Community College in Annandale, Virginia, and went on to take classes at Old Dominion University where she obtained her anesthesia and nitrous oxide certifications.

Maria strives to provide a compassionate, comfortable, and friendly environment for her patients while being professional, proficient, and educational. She wants to make sure that her patients have the knowledge they need to maintain good oral health as well as overall health throughout their lifetime.

Maria is a native of Puerto Rico but has lived in Northern Virginia for over 30 years now. Maria is bilingual in English and Spanish.

In her free time, Maria enjoys spending time with friends and family making memories. She loves going to amusement parks and waterparks with her son, Skyler, and enjoys long weekend trips and traveling.

Kimberly Whitley, RDH

Kim, our Lead RDH and Social Media Manager, began her career in dentistry in 2019 after graduating Summa Cum Laude from Howard University's Dental Hygiene program. Prior to obtaining her certificate in Dental Hygiene, she received her Bachelor of Science in Community Health from the University of Maryland at College Park. While at Howard, Kim served as the chapter president of the Student American Dental Hygienists Association, and won multiple awards for her professionalism leadership, and academic achievement.

Kim is passionate about helping her patients achieve and maintain optimal oral health. She finds joy in educating patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and making sure they understand the "why" of dentistry. She is known for her warm and friendly personality and her patients often comment on how comfortable they fee in her care.

Kim is a Washington, DC native, but has grown to love Prince William County ever since she moved here in 2023. In her spare time, Kim enjoys cooking, wine-making, and tending to her plants. She also enjoys spending time with family - which is very easy, since Brina is her sister!.
